Splosh started at the local markets with hand-made gifts in 1999. Today we are a leader and innovator in the home & giftware industry with international distribution and over 3,000 stockists in Australia and New Zealand.
Like our products, we are always changing and evolving but our vision has never changed:
"To create a product that gives and inspires – spreading optimism into the lives of everyday people, every day."
The year commenced with a new trade fair stand at the Reed Sydney Gift Fair in February.
We brought to market the “Change Box” with innovative designs and packaging.
We relocated to a new Head Office and Distribution Centre (4,400sqm) in Brisbane with double the space to accommodate our expanding team and product range.
We released over 30 new product ranges throughout the year.
The “KoKo” home fragrance brand was developed and brought to market.
KoKo candles feature 100% soy wax sourced from the USA. They are triple fragranced with a spectacular fragrance throw.
Another very successful and innovative occasion product was developed and brought to market; “The Wish Jar”.
International distribution continued to grow with Splosh products available in the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada and South Africa.
We developed and brought to market the “Vintage Range”, which then trended in the market for the coming years.
As our number of stockists continued to grow, so did our administration and sales teams. We relocated to a larger warehouse (2,200sqm).
We developed and brought to market the “Block Word”, which then trended in the market for the coming years.
We released nine new product ranges throughout the year.
We were granted the exclusive distribution rights to the “WoodWick” candle brand for Australian and New Zealand markets.
We launched the WoodWick brand as an effectively merchandised cabinet concept, setting our stockists up for success.
The year started with a new logo and we developed the ‘home gift fun’ trademark.
We had our first custom made trade fair stand built.
Our product range and designs continued to expand. We were releasing a few new ranges annually and our trade fair stands continued to grow to accommodate this.
Although the original bright look continued to be popular, we saw demand in the market for a natural, more sophisticated range.
The business continued to grow and we started the year by moving to a larger warehouse (1,000sqm). We hired our first administration team member.
We created and were the first to bring the “Signature Frame“ to market. Bright and fun colour continued to be our top selling product.
Wholesale demand continued to increase beyond the capacity of which we could hand make product components.
We started to import components and assemble in Australia. To accommodate this transition, we moved to a larger warehouse (500sqm) and officially renamed the business “Splosh”.
We took our first step into wholesale distribution at the February Gift Fair in Sydney. A successful trade fair meant later that year, Kim and Michael moved the business from their home garage to a warehouse (150sqm) on Brisbane’s Southside.
Founders, Kim and Michael, started making timber products in the garage of their Brisbane suburban home and selling them at the local Sunday markets.
The business was formerly known as “Kendall Kreations”.
